Ever since he had adopted the girls all those years back, Suguru had developed a habit of staying awake for a little longer than he should just to make sure that everything was alright- a habit that did not change as the girls got older.
He knew that he didn’t sleep enough most days but for him his main priority was always to make sure that the people he loved and cared about were safe as he always put their needs above his own.

And tonight, the night after his wedding, was no different.

The wedding itself wasn’t all that big as they only invited their closest friends and family members and yet the two of them were beyond exhausted by the wedding. And yet they were the happiest they have ever been.

Before being even fully in the hotel room the two of them were already all over each other, the jacket of Suguru’s suit hastily discarded to the corner of the bed while he was struggling with the zipper of her dress.
Somehow they managed to kick the door close behind them and make their way over to the bed where they finally managed to somehow get rid of their clothes, eager to spend their first night as husband and wife as intimate as possible.

After all was said and done Suguru rolled off of Ahri, looking at her flushed face, admiring the sparkle in her eyes that he loved so much. He had always known that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her and now it was official that they would do exactly that and that there was no one who could stop them.

“I love you”

His words were barely more than a whisper in the quiet room as the two of them were lying there, face to face when Ahri reached out and carefully put her soft hand onto his face.

“I love you as well. And I will love you for the rest of my days”

Her words were also barely more than a whisper and yet that was enough for Suguru to pull her into a gentle kiss.
Her lips still tasted like cake and even though her lipstick was long gone there were still remnants of red on her lips.
In his eyes she was the most beautiful woman.

She was also the one who saved him all those years ago, who stayed by his side during his darkest times and didn’t leave until he got the help he needed.

Ahri was the reason Suguru Geto was still alive.

The moon was only lit by the moonlight that was falling through the cracks in the curtains when the two of them returned from the bathroom, her arms wrapped around his neck as he was carrying her back to the bed.

Softly he laid her back down in the gigantic bed before taking his place next to her again, laying on his side so he could look at her while she was falling asleep.
he wanted to say something when Ahri was the one to break the silence first, a slight blush on her cheek as she moved closer to him, obviously looking for the right words to say in that moment.

“I have something to tell you”

Once again her voice was barely more than a whisper but before Suguru could reply anything she carefully took his hand and laid it onto her stomach.
It might have taken him a moment but as soon as he realized what she wanted to tell him, his eyes widened and a smile appeared on his lips as he carefully caressed her stomach. He could feel his eyes fill up with tears, which he was quick to wipe away before he returned to glance at Ahri.

“How long?”

“Ten weeks today. Which is why I didn’t drink today. I wanted to tell you before the wedding but I also didn’t want to put any more stress on you”

“I am so happy”

That was all he could say as his mind was starting to run in circles, trying to grasp the fact that the two of them were actually going to have a baby.

“Does anyone else know yet?”

“Only Shoko and Utahime. I called Shoko in a panic when I saw the positive test and she just happened to be at a Café with Utahime so…”

Ahri laughed, her cheeks a pale shade of red as it was quite embarrassing for her to admit this. After all, the two of them had been actively trying for a baby and yet she still freaked out when she saw the positive pregnancy test.

After a lot of talking about the future ahead of them Ahri fell asleep while Suguru was lying there for a little longer, admiring her beauty and once again realizing that this woman was the love of his life.
The raven haired man was still lost in his thoughts while falling asleep, realizing that he was probably the luckiest man alive.
