A Timeline of Offset & J. Prince’s Ongoing Feud (2024)

Here's a timeline recounting the feud between Offset and J. Prince following Takeoff's death.

A Timeline of Offset & J. Prince’s Ongoing Feud (1)

Tempers flared earlier this week when Offset and J. Prince’s feud spilled over to social media in wake of Takeoff‘s murder last year.

While the Migos have issues of their own when it comes to repairing the relationship between Quavo and Set, they’ve agreed to keep quiet when it comes to the tragic shootout that tragically took the life of their family member.

On the other hand, J. Prince has attempted to debunk rumors and clear his family’s name surrounding the deadly shooting, which took place in his hometown of Houston during the early hours of Nov. 1, outside a local bowling alley. The Rap-A-Lot Records founder has publicly addressed Takeoff’s death on multiple occasions in different interviews, which angered Offset — who has remained publicly tight-lipped regarding the circ*mstances surrounding the incident.

Tensions were raised to another level this week when J. Prince and the Mob Ties family appeared on an episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game earlier in February, where the Houston native dissed Set for allegedly not being there for his late groupmate.

While J. Prince maintains there was previously love on both sides from interactions throughout his career with the Migos, the fuse was lit, and that love went to the wayside as the war of words intensified — becoming a trending topic on social media, with Cardi B even chiming in this week. Cooler heads have since seemed to (hopefully) prevail, as Offset promised in his most recent warning shot at Prince that it would be the final time he speaks on him publicly.

Check out our timeline of the J. Prince and Offset feud below.

  • Takeoff Murdered in Houston (Nov. 1, 2022)

Takeoff (real name Kirsnick Khari Ball) was shot and killed outside 810 Billiards & Bowlingin Houston during the early hours of Nov. 1 at the age of 28.

Quavo was reportedly involved in a dice game outside the bowling alley when an argument and physical confrontation broke out after he lost money to a pair of individuals. Gun shots were exchanged and Takeoff was hit multiple times in the head and torso area, while Huncho was left uninjured.

Offset was not present at the time of the deadly shooting — although J. Prince’s son, J. Prince Jr., and other members of his family were by Takeoff’s side.

Two arrests have been made in the case, and the alleged gunman, 33-year-old Patrick Clark, has since posted a $1 million bond. He was released from police custody in January on strict conditions.

  • J. Prince Releases Statement Following Takeoff's Death (Nov. 3, 2022)

    J. Prince paid tribute to the late Migos rapper in an Instagram post where he sent his condolences to Takeoff’s friends and family, in addition to naming Quavo and Offset specifically.

“The Prince family would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of a beautiful soul @yrntakeoff,” he wrote. “To Houstonians and families around the world, this one breaks my heart because Takeoff was a brother, a son, a role model, and a God loving human being. Grief is the price of love; a bill people from across the globe are paying right now as we mourn this loss. I’ve been knowingTakeoff, Quavo and Offsetfor many years and there has been nothing but mutual love for one another and that ain’t going to ever change where we are concerned.

“This shouldn’t have happened. This shouldnt have ever happened in our city. This shouldn’t have been recorded, and this damn sure shouldn’t be circulating across social media for family, friends and fans to see. As I write this I’m angry about the lack of love and respect we have for one another as a race which keeps bringing us back to the same tragic place of black on black killing.”

  • J. Prince Defends His Family's Actions (Jan. 9)

In the months since Takeoff’s death, plenty of conspiracy theories and rumors circulated on social media regarding what exactly happened to the Migos rapper. J. Prince joinedChris Gotti’s Givin Them the Business podcast on Jan. 9 where the Texas hip-hop patriarch debunked a story going around that his son, J. Prince Jr., walked by a lifeless Takeoff and didn’t even try to help him following the Houston shootout.

“One of the biggest lies that was told that he walked by Takeoff’s body as if he was heartless and didn’t care,” J. Prince said. “In reality, Jr. and my cousin Michael Press they was there with Takeoff from the beginning to the end … He actually went in the restroom to wash blood off his hand when he had to pick him up.”

  • J. Prince Disses Offset on ‘Million Dollaz Worth of Game’ (Feb. 5)

After hearing that J. Prince spoke with Quality Control boss Pierre “Pee” Thomas, Million Dollaz Worth of Game co-hosts Gillie and Wallo agreed to grant the Rap-A-Lot honcho and the Mob Ties family an interview.

Throughout the bombshell discussion, Prince accused an alleged snitch in Quavo’s crew at the scene of Takeoff’s death of cooperating with authorities named Willie Bland, and he brought the paperwork to corroborate his claims. At the end of the hour-long interview, J. Prince boldly called out Offset for not supporting Takeoff when he was still with us.

“Offset, I ain’t gonna leave him out,” Prince said. “I’m just real like this. N—as be throwing rocks and hiding their hands, right … And I don’t like them kind of individuals. And the truth of the matter is, one can dance and different things in front of all these cameras and all that other s–t.

“When in reality, the truth of the matter is, you wasn’t really there with Takeoff when he was alive. So for you to take the positions that you taking,” he continued. “I’ma just say this to you: Don’t ever put me in no position where I have to defend myself. That wouldn’t be healthy for you. I have to say that, but it’s a million dollars worth of game.”

  • Grammy Awards Scuffle Between Quavo & Offset (Feb. 5)

Entertainment Tonight captured footage of Cardi B shouting at Offset and Quavo backstage at the Grammy Awards on Sunday (Feb. 5).

“Both of y’all is wrong! Both of y’all,” she can be heard saying. “This is not right. Shut the f–k up, ‘cause you shouldn’t have been talking.”

TMZ previously reported that the altercation turned physical between the Migos members, and was over Huncho not allowing Offset to hit the stage with him during the Takeoff tribute for the Grammy’s In Memorium segment.

Offset downplayed the backstage confrontation in a tweet hours later. “What tf look like fighting my brother yal n—as is crazy,” he wrote.

  • Offset Responds to J. Prince Interview (Feb. 6)

    J. Prince’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game words didn’t take long to make their way back to Offset, who had enough of Prince speaking on him and his late Migo brother. An irritated Set responded in a video posted to his Instagram Story just hours after the Grammy Awards ended, claiming he didn’t know J “from a can of paint.”

“First off, y’all n—as speaking on my real brother,” he said. “I don’t know what the f*ck y’all n—as got going on. Y’all n—as speaking on my real brother. How dare one of y’all n—as speak on me and Take’s relationship. I don’t know you n—a from a can of paint, n—a. Y’all don’t know how me and my brother rock, n—a.

“You trying to clear your fate, n—a,” he continued. “This your fifth interview, n—a, you don did about my n—a. You didn’t think about his momma, you didn’t think about the family, n—a?We ain’t say nothing. Ain’t nobody say nothing bout you n—as. Who y’all n—as think you is, John Gotti, n—a? Ain’t nobody going for none of that!”

Offset went on to explain that if J. Prince has an issue with him, then the Rap-A-Lot executive should call him directly and not speculate in more interviews.

“Y’all n—as airing it out on an interview talking about, ‘I said this.’ N—a, call my phone, homie. You call my phone and we’ll have a conversation. All that playing internet games,” he added.

  • J. Prince Claps Back at Offset (Feb. 8)

The 58-year-old stewed over Offset’s stern response for a couple of days before firing back with a warning of his own on Feb. 8. J. Prince reminded Set of the many interactions they’ve had in the past with an Instagram post.

“To those of you that still live on principles over emotions that know and respect me it’s all good,” J. Prince’s caption read. “I don’t care about the media hoes; they eat sh*t for a living. We live on different planets and breathe different air if you know what I mean. I only display loyalty and friendship to my brothers and sisters until they show me they’re unworthy.”

He continued: “Never been a bully or lived a life where I abused my power on the weak. No matter what you heard; it’s cap. I’m glad I’m not one of those individuals that my family has to hold their head down when my name is mentioned. So excuse me while I deal with these clowns because ain’t nobody gonna tell them the truth like I’m a give it to them.”

  • Cardi B Chimes In and Wack 100 Supports Her Claims (Feb. 8)

A fan attempted to put Cardi B on blast for allegedly needing J. Prince’s help when moving around Los Angeles, but she dispelled the claim, and asked Prince to bring up receipts while Wack 100 and former Rolling 60’s leader Eugene “Big U” Henley were actually the ones present to assist.

“Never… tell him to show receipts … Only people that was thee was Wack and Big U … why would he be call for anything involving crips? Whole bunch of fairy tales,” she wrote.

Cardi entered the feud subliminally pointing the finger at J. Prince as a liar.

“Big Lies” she wrote to Twitter.

Wack 100 backed Cardi’s statements as well in an Instagram post on Feb. 8.

“@iamcardib TELLS NO LIES … @jprincerespect had nothing to do with that weekend or that issue,” he added.

  • Offset Throws Another Jab While Getting the Last Word (Feb. 8)

Offset has the final word — at least for now. The Father of Four rapper jabbed J. Prince, accusing him of transforming from a street OG to a cop and warning him to let this be the last time they speak on the matter.

“Street N—a turn [cop] never needed you for no smoke u da police all mouth with no proof just fairy tales let this be the last time we speak on this,” Offset wrote on Twitter on Feb. 8.
